Soup

On Friday 11th September 2015, I wanted to photograph every vehicle that drove through the crossroads between 8am and 6pm at Edmondsley, County Durham in the UK. The crossroads are in a historically important coal mining area and just down from where I live.

I woke up that morning not feeling very well, coming down with a temperature. I walked down to the crossroads and made the first photograph at 7:53am. The last one at 5:39pm. In between I went home at about 11:20am to charge my camera battery and have something to eat, but still feeling rough I fell asleep in the house. By the time I’d woken up and walked back down to the crossroads it was about 2pm. I carried on photographing but feeling worse I sat down on a bench and fell asleep by the side of the road between about 3pm and 3:50pm, waking up every so often and taking more photos.

Probably noticing the state I was in I was approached by a woman from across the street from what used to be the Fleece Inn pub. She said I wasn’t looking too well and asked if I wanted a hot drink or some soup or something. I said it was alright.

On Friday 14th August 2015, the UK Labour Party began voting for the next leader. Voting closed on Thursday 10th September, and the results were announced on Saturday 12th September.
